How To Write Your Personal Life Statement

What does it mean to Write Your Life’s Purpose Statement? It truly is defined as your purpose and serves as your re-occuring theme for all your actions. A personal life purpose statement can also provide clarity and helps you to steer all your actions in one direction. In this guide you will find everything you need to know about your life’s mission statements and how to write yours.

Last week I had the opportunity to attend a course modeled around becoming an Effective Entrepeneur with Corliss – With Purpose Consulting………google her…..she is amazing!! This was a course that was being offered for the very first time, we were going to be the “Guinea Pigs‘ for this course. Something that I was completely fine with!!! I had essentially signed up to see just what this course was all about. I am what I refer to as “being nosy…….inquisitive” I never want to miss an opportunity, especially if I feel it is in alignment to what my goal is, and I truly felt like this course would be in alignment with me and my goals!!

My husband drove me into the city as he had a bit of shopping to do, this allowed us to both meet our goals and that is an amazing feeling, trust me. The moment that I walked into that room to meet Corliss for the very first time in person, it was like meeting someone you have known your whole life. I immediately had that “You Align With Me” vibe and I tend to listen to my body, my gut, my first instinct….whatever that looks like for you……emotions and feelings have played a huge part in my life and I have learned that listening to my first basic, innate instinct has always given me great results!!

I immediately entered the room, sat down and we started chatting, I was about 10 minutes early as I always like to be early and not feel rushed, plus I was the first one there so it gave me time to connect with this human being who seems to see the world like I do. The world is not a terrible place unless you allow it to be a terrible place and by surrounding yourself with positive, upbeat, like minded individuals, your outlook on the world changes dramatically.

As the other gals started arriving, I was noticing a sense of contentness in this room,,,,everyone here was here because they had a purpose in life, a true given purpose and we were all there to learn from this human being.

As we all started sharing the reasons we were attending the class, I new it was soon going to be my turn and the heart palpitations started in….Who are you? What do you do for work? Why were you here? What was I wanting to learn? I am a far better writer of my emotions that a speaker. I know my name, I run a side hustle which will be turning into two side hustles, I work in a kitchen and I truly didn’t know why I was there. We quickly turned that “I didn’t know” into, I was hoping to add to my tool kit, which was totally something I was good with. That was really what I was doing there wasn’t it…….I was curious.

Throughout the evening I was sharing some pretty emotionally charged personal stuff about myself and in that environment, with the other woman that I had just literally met that evening, it felt ok to share, it felt right, because all of my life experiences had led me this exact moment, this very class and those special woman. I believe there is always a reason a person shows up in your life, it is not just by chance.

What I can tell you about the course that Corliss leads, it is a one a kind course that should be taken in by anyone wishing to become an Effective Entrepeneur.

As the evening came to an end and I said goodbye to everyone, I was able to purchase Corliss’ book “Lead Your Life”. It wasn’t until a few days later, where I could actually crack that puppy open and that book of hers is written exactly like she talks……my kind of talk!!

This book is what helped me to write My Life Purpose Statement.

It is outlined in such a way that it really resonated with my thinking process…..seriously you guys, I have never wrote one before and this came so easily to me……it was like someone guiding my pen to write…….it was an amazing feeling!!

Today, I will share with you the exact steps I used to create my life purpose statement.

Step 1. Define Your Words – What 3 words can you use to describe yourself, words that you want to be in this world? What 3 words can you use to describe where you want to be in the future?

Below You Will Find Some Words That May Help You Choose Your Words

Inspire / Secure / Friendly / Ecstatic / Joy / Loyalty / Energized / Purposeful / Passionate / Confident / Connected / Generous / Free / Strong / Vibrant / Generous / Supportive / Understanding/ Driven / Fearless / Brave

Choose 3 words that speak to your desires. These 3 words will define who you are, and, or who you desire to be in the future.

Step 2. What are your most distinguishing charecteristics? What gifts do you hold? What do others admire about you most? And, if you don’t know the answer, do what I did and ask your friends to describe you in 3 words……….see what they come back with and start working from there, What 3 words did your friends use to describe you, are any of them alike or similar in any way?

Step 3. Life Purpose Statement Exercise When you blend all of your 3 defining words with your most distinguished characteristics, you will ultimately be capable of defining a statement that helps you guide your life every day.

-You will never empower the world by living someone else’s story-

Corliss gave us an example of hers in her book “through my own example, with energy, enthusiasm and confidence, I inspire others to live with purpose and courageously take control of their lives”

Can you spot her defining words and her distinguished characteristics? Isn’t that statement powerful?

Through her guidance I have been able to write my Life Purpose Statement……“To empower myself & others to live a confident, abundant life with authenticity, honesty & integrity”

This was such an amazing, easy, step by step guide for me that ultimately guided me towards my life purpose and my life’s goals!

It truly is this easy and I for one would not have been able to create this without these steps from Corliss, thank you for your guidance my friend!

If you find that this topic resonated with you, then I challenge each of you reading this to create your very own personal Life Purpose Statement!!

Feel free to share below with me and the other readers YOUR VERY OWN LIFE PURPOSE STATEMENT. Send it out into the universe and watch how your life’s purpose starts to happen and unfold right in front of your very eyes!

Your dreams and goals are not things you “could” achieve “someday”. They are things you “should” achieve.
