As I sit here contemplating how to start, I feel compelled to start at the basics. We are all on a journey in life but just in case, you are starting out on a new journey, let’s begin how I began.
What Is An Affirmation – An affirmation is a new thought and a new terms that mainly refers to the practice of positive thinking and self-empowerment—fostering a belief that “a positive mental attitude supported by affirmations will achieve success in anything.” More specifically, an affirmation is a carefully guided statement that should be repeated to one’s self and written down frequently. For affirmations to be effective and useful, it is said that they need to be present tense, positive, personal and specific.
What Are Positive Affirmations – Louse Hay states, An affirmation opens the door. It’s a beginning point on the path to change. In essence, you’re saying to your subconscious mind: “I am taking responsibility. I am aware that there is something I can do to change.” When I talk about doing affirmations, I mean consciously choosing words that will either help eliminate something from your life or help create something new in your life.
Every thought you think and every word you speak is an affirmation. All of our self-talk, our internal dialogue, is a stream of affirmations. You’re using affirmations every moment whether you know it or not. You’re affirming and creating your life experiences with every word and thought.
Your beliefs are merely habitual thinking patterns that you learned as a child. Many of them work very well for you. Other beliefs may be limiting your ability to create the very things you say you want. What you want and what you believe you deserve may be very different. You need to pay attention to your thoughts so that you can begin to eliminate the ones creating experiences you do not want in your life.
Please realize that every complaint is an affirmation of something you think you don’t want in your life. Every time you get angry, you’re affirming that you want more anger in your life. Every time you feel like a victim, you’re affirming that you want to continue to feel like a victim. If you feel that Life isn’t giving you what you want in your world, then it’s certain that you will never have the goodies that Life gives to others-that is, until you change the way you think and talk.
This thought process was not something I was born with, this thought process is something that I chose to learn in order to change my life, my husbands life, and the lives of others around us.
It was time to put our head in the game and switch on our positive thinking.
When I first began my Affirmation Journey, it quickly became clear to me that I could combine my new love for affirmations and my growing love for Young Living Essential Oils.
How To Use Essential Oils With An Affirmation – Setting an affirmation for yourself is another way to create a conscious shift in your mood and mentality. So for each oil and emotion I share below, I am going to supply you with an affirmation that you can use along with it – whether you are applying it topically, (I always suggest diluting your oils when you apply topically with a carrier oil….coconut, jojoba, etc.) or diffusing it. Say the affirmation out loud several times or repeat it quietly in your mind, and then simply allow the oil and affirmation to work their magic!
Below I will list the emotion with the corresponding affirmation followed with the compatible essential oil.
