What is your Intuition? According to the Dictionary, Intuition is a noun whose definition means that someone uses quick understanding to interpret but without using reasoning or perception, a snap judgment. The definition of the word comes from the Latin roots in– meaning “at” or “on” and tueri meaning “look at, watch over.” Instinctive knowing (without the use of rational processes) or an impression that something might be the case. Your probably wondering How You Can Learn To Listen To Your Inner Voice?
The techniques that I will share with you are super easy and quite manageable. But, I do have one little piece of advice that I feel I should let you in on….The next time you meet someone and you are chatting with them, or you have shaken their hand, and you are truely getting the “something is wrong vibe” Listen to what your intuition is telling you, your intuition will never steer you wrong, I promise you!
- Practice Mindfulness – When we sit still with our thoughts and desires and we begin to focus in on the moment, we will begin to filter everything non significant thing out from our thoughts. When we begin to become still, the fog clears and clarity is given, at this point in time, you should be able to hear your intuition loud and clear.
- Trust Your Gut – This is common advice that means to ‘trust your inner voice/your intuition”. I learned from an early age to trust my gut, but for those who did not, A ‘gut’ feeling or a ‘gut reaction’ is a feeling or reaction that is deeper and wiser than our conscious minds. This means, always go with the decision that pops into your mind first, without even thinking about it, which to some, may seen illogical, but to me, I have been doing this my whole life and my ‘gut instinct’ has never steered me wrong yet.
- Sleep Well – When we sleep well, we dream well. When we dream, this is a natural part of our intuition, our brains will work while we are sleeping to bring about a solution to a problem that we may be having. Dreams generally have very valuable information attached to them. This is where keeling a Dream Journal can come in real handy.
When we allow ourselves to listen to our intuition, we begin to open ourselves up to a new way of thinking. Many of times we surrender our decision making to rational choices, rational thinking. feasibility, and all the while doing things that we think are expected of us, in terms of what others may see, what others are expecting of us.
I challenge each one of you that read this article to ‘trust your gut’ When you learn to trust your gut, your inner voice, your intuition, your whole entire life will become brighter, or at least for me it did, I allowed myself to trust my gut and in turn, this allowed my life to become less hectic and the inner turmoil I was feeling was quieted!
Always trust your gut!
